Inventor of the Wheel

AAAAArrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Okay now that I have released that little ball of frustration let me begin

A Million Trillion years ago in a galaxy far far away, Bob invented the wheel. Bob was hailed as the Father of creativity by many many peeps. Of course many people coveted Bobs wheel and wanted their own and it wasn't long before another peep COPIED the wheel. Bob was aghast and took it up with Fred (the copier). The result was Bob hit Fred over the head with his club and Fred made no more wheels. But of course, because Bob's wheel was so awesome, it wasn't long before other wheels started popping up all over the show. Some were exactly the same and some were slightly different, but they were all wheels.

a Million Trillion years later

The world is taken by storm with the sensation that we know as Facebook. We love it!!!! Its opened up a whole new world of opportunity, especially for SAHM, who have now become WAHM and have brought back the, with a vengeance I might add, the age old world of handmade craft. but along with the fabulousness comes a darker side.

I'm still undecided on who is the darker of the two evils.... Is it Fred the person who saw an idea and went oohh I can do that....or is it Bob who likes to come along and club people for "stealing" their ideas.

If Bob was the actual inventor, then I say "Oh well he is quite within his rights to club Fred" but if Bob had seen it somewhere in his travels and the idea had been floating around for a million years then doesnt Fred have every right to give it a whirl.

Boo Hissssssssssssss I hear all you Bobs saying, and if you have had something copied exactly as in down to the last stitch I feel your pain.....

BUT

there is something you should take on board before it eats away at your creative heart

DO YOU REALLY THINK YOU HAVE ENOUGH HOURS IN THE DAY TO CREATE FOR EVERY SINGLE CUSTOMER

(I ask this because I know many Bob's who already have so much work they don't know what to do)

and why not take this opportunity that has been thrown your way to push your creative boundaries and make that bar of excellence higher.

Now

If your actually a Fred but think your a Bob, Im sick of your whinging all over FB as are most of us.....just watch the negativity you attract to your page when you have a wee moan and take a look at your liker number...chances are its dropping...cos nobody likes a whinger.

I applique T Shirts...its a world full of similar ideas.... I see similar images to mine every day but for all I know they are thinking the same thing and most of us are inspired by images already out there.....not many truly original artworks out there on t shirts.

I sew clothing...from patterns..yes PATTERNS!!! Readily available for anyone to buy as is the fabrics.

the only thing I say to future Fred's is this

If you are "inspired" by someone else s creations, don't reinvent the already developed wheel, take that wheel if you must and make it your own version....add bling! add wings! add feathers! add toilet rolls if it takes your fancy but don't make it the same.....Please for all our sakes STOP... THINK....then CREATE

The End

January Is Ending - Already... (A blog post of rambling.)

The first month of the year is pretty much done already.  It has passed by in a flurry of visitors, social outings, school holidays, night shift (for the man person), and of course fabric.  Fabric.  Fabric.  Fabric is a whole world on it's own.  And I could dedicate more than a month of random thoughts to that one.  I am waiting (not so) patiently (I'm so not a patient person) for a particular range to make it's way to the suppliers.  They say it will be arriving early March.  I'm guessing the end of March in reality.  And then after I order it, it needs to make it's way from the States to the middle of the WA desert to reach me.  I'll be stalking the postie, and when it finally arrives, I will squeal with delight (I am playing out the scenario in my head right now), and tear the envelope open (or more like cut it carefully - they don't tear easily those envelopes, and God forbid I cut it haphazardly and cut through the preciousness), and then, I will carefully, slowly, deliberately touch it to my cheek.  Sigh.

I digress.  A rather common thing we do in the 76 world.  I guess it is really like that with any conversation involving excited women.  We do spend a lot of time being rather excited.  Anyway.  Two sleeps to go until school starts for the term.  A new school for Mr 6 - year one for him this year.  Oh my baby.  Where did that time go.  Less of a meltdown this year (for me) however, the beginning of last year was an almost crisis when my littlest one went to full time school.  The whole 'Who am I?' and 'No one needs me anymore!' was soon replaced with feelings and thoughts of felt and buttons at that time, and now this year I am already planning my Wednesday, right down to the timing of a cuppa when I get home from dropping the lovelies off.  My biggest guy is in Year 3 this year.  I think he's grown about a foot over the holidays.  He's just had his return to school haircut and is looking rather handsome.  I have made them both promise they will never leave home.  I may retract this request in later years.  Husband man person is on a course for a few days.  I will have two whole days to myself before he starts his break.  Oh my golly.  I can't bloody wait!  It's been nearly 2 months since a day on my own.  Wooooooooooooooo hooooooooooooo!  And I'm not doing any housework. None.

Only 17 days til our next Market Night, and we have some glorious goodies coming out.  Lots of lovelies to get out into the world :)

Mr 6 just came to tell me he has been singing lullabies to the cat to make him go to sleep.  Bit cute really.  Prior to this he and the cat had a stare out.  The cat lost.  I really think it's time to go back to school.

Here's to a fun year at school (for wee and not so wee ones), fabulous friends, time by oneself, and yards and yards of fantastic fabric (that arrives on time - or even better, earlier than expected)!  Enjoy your year - it's gonna be a busy one for us full of lots of interesting adventures and fun challenges!
